Emily Rapp Black

Emily Rapp Black is the author of Poster Child: A Memoir, and The Still Point of the Turning World, which was a New York Times bestseller. A former Fulbright scholar, she was educated at Harvard University, Trinity College-Dublin, and the University of Texas-Austin, where she was a James Michener Fellow. She has received awards and recognition for her work from the Rona Jaffe Foundation, the Corporation of Yaddo, the Jentel Arts Foundation, Fundacion Valparaiso, the Fine Arts Work Center, and Bucknell University, where she was the Philip Roth Writer-in-Residence. Her work has appeared in VOGUE, the New York Times, Lenny Letter, Salon, Slate, Redbook, O the Oprah Magazine, and many other publications. Her next project, Casa Azul Cripple, is a book-length lyric essay forthcoming from the New York Review of Books and Nottinghill Editions. She is Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at the University of California-Riverside.
